Radio Flyer is currently running a special deal for their smallest electric cargo bike, the Flyer Folding. At the time of writing this article, the company will throw in $500 worth of accessories, which will outfit the bike with what you need to carry a child and/or plenty of cargo.

Radio Flyer, in the ebike industry, is known for their larger electric cargo bikes, such as the L885, and two newer models, the Via and Via Pro. The Flyer Folding ebike is much smaller and easier to handle, and ideal for hauling a small child, or being an efficient grocery-getter.

Weighing in at 53 pounds, it’s quite a bit lighter than most cargo ebikes. This is thanks to a smaller 350 watt motor, slim frame design, and 20 x 2.125″ tires. It’s also a single-speed, which has its pros and cons.

Having a single speed means there is less maintenance, less cost, and less weight, but you won’t have a lower gear to drop into when climbing hills, so you’ll be relying solely on the motor and your effort.

For $1899, fully loaded with the current deal, it’s a good deal. Without the accessories, $1899 is probably a bit more than I would spend for the bike by itself. Having said that, I do like the features that it offers.

You get a Class 2 ebike, meaning it has a throttle with speeds up to 20 mph, 5 levels of pedal assist, front and rear integrated lights, an LCD display with a charging port, a UL certified 48 V 10.4 Ah battery, folding frame, 300 pound payload capacity, dual leg kickstand, and fenders.

Its portability sets it apart from many ecargo bikes, which typically weigh considerably more, and can’t be folded to fit into the back of a vehicle. It can also be used as just a zippy, fun ebike when not carrying a passenger or cargo.

It’s most ideal for carrying a single smaller child. If you need to haul more than one child or will be climbing hills, it would be better to choose a heavier duty cargo bike with a larger motor and more than one gear. Radio Flyer has several models to choose from.

Overall, the Flyer Folding ebike provides a lot of utility in a small package. I love the look of it! It’s great that you can choose between four different colors. You can read through several reviews from real customers on Radio Flyer’s site. It doesn’t look like Radio Flyer filters the reviews, which is refreshing. The estimated range also looks legit.
