2019 Black Friday sales on Amazon and elsewhere for many of the top names in smartwatches and fitness trackers are pretty awesome. There are some deep discounts going on, even on recent releases.
I’ll just quickly go through the ones that I’ve found so you check them out yourself on Amazon. If you’re an Amazon Prime member you’ll get the best deals.
You can save $100 off of the brand new Garmin Venu. This is basically the same exact watch as the Garmin Vivoactive 4 but with an AMOLED display. If you like a sharper looking screen with more vibrant colors over Garmin’s more traditional transflective display then the Venu might be a great choice.
And speaking of the Garmin Vivoactive 4, it also has a nice discount of $50 as of the time and date I’m writing this. The smaller 4s which I have and enjoy also has the $50 discount.

Another terrific discount on a very good hiking/outdoor watch from Garmin is $100 off on the Instinct. The Garmin Instinct tested out great for me with an accurate GPS and compass. Battery life and durability is also very good. It’s more than a hiking watch though, supporting a wide variety of activities.

The Forerunner 945 also is marked down $100. This watch is basically the same as Garmin’s flagship GPS watch, the Garmin Fenix. Basically, you’re just getting different case material. The Forerunner 945 also features full color maps for hiking like the much more pricey Fenix.
You can also save on some of Garmin’s older but tried and true devices such as the Forerunner 35 now going for $99.99 and the very popular running watch, the Forerunner 235, is marked down from an original price of $329.00 to $149.99.
Fitbit is also in on the act with some very good pricing on their most popular devices including the Fitbit Versa 2 which tested out much better for me than the original Versa. It is marked down $50 as well as the Fitbit Charge 3. The Fitbit Inspire HR is also very affordable priced below $70 as of this writing. The Inspire HR is a simple tracker but one I was charmed with. This is a tracker that you can wear on your wrist or in a clip which comes in handy sometimes.

And if you’re in the market for an Apple Watch, Walmart has a very good deal on the Apple Watch Series 3. Unfortunately, it’s already sold out online as I’m typing this! But if you really want an Apple Watch for yourself or for a loved one as a gift and want to save money, I’d check out the Series 4 on Amazon or Ebay. I personally think the Series 4 is better than the newer Series 5 when it comes to GPS, battery life, and mic/speaker quality.

The Apple Watch Series 5 is still a VERY good smartwatch and it’s the one that’s on my wrist most of the time. I have the 40mm GPS+Cellular version and I enjoy the cellular option so I can leave my phone behind when bike riding, running errands, or working out in the yard while my phone is in the house. It’s very handy to remain connected.
The other smartwatch that I highly recommend, especially for those with Android smartphones is the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2. It has tested out very well for me and I enjoy using it for gym workouts, sleep tracking, receiving phone notifications, and interacting with. The mic and speaker are very good as well and the battery life is almost twice that of the Apple Watch Series 5!
