This winter is almost in the rearview mirror and thank goodness. It’s been a long, bitterly cold one in the Midwest. On days when it wasn’t ridiculously cold the wind was blowing in excess of 40 mph. It’s just been really, REALLY hard to get out and do outdoor activities.
But that’s about to change and that means I can finally get out and test several watches including the Garmin Instinct, Ticwatch S2, Fossil Sport, and the Samsung Galaxy Active.
While I’ve tested them out in the gym, I haven’t had much opportunity to do so outdoors but this week I saw a 60 degree day and oh boy I hope I can get out and get some testing done for you.
Besides that, I’m finally going to get to visiting a lot of hiking, kayaking, and other recreational areas in Illinois and possibly elsewhere.
That’s always been a major part for the plan of the site and YouTube channel that I’ve wanted to dedicate time to.
I’m looking forward to visiting new places and introducing them to you.
There’s state parks and other little natural areas on my list that I didn’t even know existed within a 50-mile radius of where I live and I’ve lived in Illinois my entire life.
I think a lot of us tend to overlook great places to visit near our neck of the woods, even in our own city.
I’ll also be going to Boston in May and scout out some sites to see there and hope to do some weekend trips in the Midwest here and there. There’s an area in Michigan I want to revisit. We drove through there on our way back from Traverse City and it looked like a nice weekend getaway destination.
Mostly, I’m looking forward to warmer weather and getting out into nature again. I’m amazed I didn’t completely lose my mind over these past 5 1/2 months.
